There
is no inspection during
the months of January
and February. The
normal fine for an
expired inspection
is 200RMB. However
this fine vary
depending on the expired
period.
A
road tax of 110 RMB
annually is assessed
on all vehicles in China
except diplomats. It
can be paid every month,
every three months,
six months or yearly.
A
30% fine is imposed
within four months
to one year overdue.
A 100% fine is imposed
within two years overdue.

Foreigners
must
hold
a Chinese
driving
license
to drive
in China.
To obtain
this
you
first
must
possess
a valid
residence
permit
( If you do not have your resident permit but have L , F or student visa then you need to have an additional document from your Landlord called Temporal resident which is obtained through your Landlord in the local police station.) and
a valid
foreign
driving
license.
You
will
be required to have
a brief
medical
and
written
test.The
whole
process
takes
about
two
weeks.
The
written
test
is done
on every
Tuesday's
and
Thursday's.

pictures

a valid

permit

weeks

expiry

Foreigners who have landed in China without any driving experience now have the opportunity to attend a driving school. The Beijing Oriental Fashion Automobile Driver School is now offering intensive driving lessons for foreigners. The driving school is located in Da Xing District of Beijing. The standard fee per person is 8,000 RMB. The lessons last for three months with flexible schedule. The school only needs a valid passport with resident permit together with seven passport pictures for admission. Please translate your passport and sign the Chinese name under the paper. Auto
Insurance

You
are required by law
to have auto insurance
to drive a car in China.
The minimum is the third
person coverage. Other
coverage includes:

The fifteen years limitation on ownership transfer has been abolish. All cars over fifteen years can now be transfer as long as it passes the annual Government inspection.
Foreigners

foreign person must be working for a foreign company, has a resident permit valid for one year or above, employment permit, custom white book if your company is rep. office, custom black book if your company is joint venture or wholly owned before you will be qualify to buy a car from the Embassies. If you are qualify then you will be required to pay custom and purchase tax. |
